"Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle..."

“Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand.”
—George Orwell

Its hot out there isn't it? I haven't been on here on a while and for that I apologise. Life has once again taken over. Work is manic beyond belief and I have been struggling with the front cover of The Bittersweet Vine. But Hoorah! I got there in the end. I should really say we got there in the end - Thames River Press and I to be exact and of course a little help from friends, family and even H. A picture of the front cover of The Bittersweet Vine will be on my website shortly and on this blog today!

Even better is that the book is on for pre-order from Amazon as well! I love that. I am excited and so I should be I keep telling myself. After all this is my first traditionally published book. I think I am nearly there as well. I am just waiting for the final proofs. That will be one long week making sure it all reads okay.

The difference between self-pubbing and this is at least I know someone else (publishing house) has an interest in making sure it reads okay.

Another reason why I haven't blogged for a while is that I went on a vacation. To Croatia. It was fabulous. Dubrovnik is spectacular but Cavtat for me was pretty amazing. The food (fresh grilled seafood and copious amounts of octopus) was excellent. The resort too lived up to our expectations and was very Poirot like - think Evil Under the Sun with Peter Ustinov- Chupplejeep would have been in his element!

It was good to have a break and now I am back and refreshed ready to get marketing The Bittersweet Vine and to complete novel 3 - Poison in the Water. The title is really growing on me too.

if you have time take a look at The Bittersweet Vine on Thames River Press's website. I'll put a link on the right as well!
