Marissa de Luna

Welcome to my blog! The Coffee Stained Manuscript was created to follow my journey of self publishing when I found myself with a completed manuscript and no willing publisher or writing agent.

I decided to self publish which was a scary thing to do but I am impatient. I wanted to get my work out there. I didn't want to sit on it for years. In fact I had already wasted years. You see, I had always wanted to write but never had the courage to do so. When I finally started I realised that writing was in my blood. I just had to write and I have not stopped since.

In 2012 I got a writing agent and in 2013 I was offered my first publishing contract with Thames River Press.  The whole process is a huge learning curve and I recognise the challenges we writers face. This blog explores the highs and lows of writing, traditional and self publishing as well as discussing writing workshops, writing tips and ways to publicise your novel.

Goa Traffic was my first book which was self-published and The Bittersweet Vine has been traditionally published.

I hope you enjoy The Coffee Stained Manuscript
